I am currently celebrating Lunar New Year at my hometown. And left with nothing but a phone. I have been writing drafts for my future blog posts, but sometimes I just felt too lazy to write. I began to think about what I should do, particulary, things that I wanted to complete at the end of this year, because in those previous years I had no resolution about what I should fulfill at all. I guess it is the time to make one this year, seriously.
What have I done last year? Well, I completed most of the coding projects I wanted to do, like snt
and michi
... I have also made a website for my own. I reached 1000 ELO on chess.com. I was also trying to learn a new language, which is Japanese, and also wanted to learn some basic algorithms and data structures for competitive programming, but I ended up leaving those behind for other stuff.
It is no fun leaving things uncompleted. So let's make a serious thing this year. This is my resolution for 2023:
- Reach 1500 ELO on chess.com, at both category: Blitz and Rapid: My dream is to get a FIDE title in chess :) IM maybe? Of course, this is just the beginning.
- Make 3 studies on 3 different chess openings: It is hard to improve at chess if you do not know the basics. Making a study requires in-depth researches, so it will be nice to make some.
- Build some muscles: People keep saying that I look like a stick.
- Get some ELO on Codeforces or AtCoder: It is a sport, and everybody know how to CP, I felt like I was the only one left behind.
- Learn Japanese, at least comfortable with Hiragana and Katakana, maybe some basic Kanji: There are some nice learning materials online. I just need to devote my time and stuff to learn it.
- Create and complete 3 coding projects, with 1 in long term: To build my profile and to not get bored.
- Learn C, V and Zig
- Completely quit social medias: I gave up Facebook a month ago and I am pretty happy with my decision. This year I will refrain myself from visiting Facebook, unless there is something extremely important that could only be accessible on Facebook.
- Make a Linux environment that is comfortable and efficent for programming and learning: Self-explanatory
I guess that is it. Will I be able to complete this New Year's Resolution? We will find it out next year. And you should make one too because it is more fun to accomplish than to aimlessly do everything.
I wish you a happy new year.
