Claws Mail is one of my favorite e-mail client/pieces of GUI software ever,
simply because of its uniqueness and good variety of features.
I’ve been using Claws Mail again recently because my dissatisfaction
with Home Manager’s email
option
grew and I wasn’t very motivated to resolve the issues I had with it.
Since I’m probably going back to using Claws Mail in the long-term, I think I would be nice to write a post about it for future references and probably to advertise this underrated piece of software.
Making configurations declarable on NixOS
By default, Claws Mail will save your configurations in
~/.claws-mail
, unless you’ve specifically used the
--alternate-config-dir
flag on every run. You can run claws-mail --config-dir
to show the location of your Claws Mail config.
The Claws Mail’s FAQ page contains a section that lists all files that represents your config. They are all in plain text format, so it should be easy to integrate them into your NixOS config.
LabWC integration
Claws Mail’s tray icon doesn’t work on NixOS somehow.
